IMG_7710-preview.HEIC

We are excited to hear from freelance singers who are interested in working with The Carice Singers, in rehearsals, performances, recordings, and workshops.

Auditions will be held in central London on Thursday 1st May 2025.

What we are looking for

We are looking for singers who are open to performing a wide variety of repertoire, and have the desire to challenge themselves artistically.

We are committed to expanding the diversity of freelancers we engage, particularly from backgrounds that experience racism, and/or who are disabled or neurodivergent. Welcoming and drawing from a wide range of perspectives and creative input is core to our values and ways of working.

About our work

The Carice Singers is playing its part in making sure that choral music has a key role in contemporary culture. Whether it is performing Kaija Saariaho’s sci-fi masterpiece Reconnaissance at Kings Place, establishing the New Voices Academy for emerging composers at the Three Choirs Festival, or reviving forgotten works of visionary figures such as Gustav Holst, the group is aiming to set a new national standard in the quality, variety, and relevance of its work.

The group typically gives between 10-15 concerts throughout the year, some of which are part of larger projects and may also include workshops and/or recordings. We do not have a defined size of ensemble nor a contracted core group of freelancers. Instead, we engage freelancers as to the needs of each project. We have a sick pay scheme for when illness strikes.
